View Full Version : Doing an oil change
Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ft1IkFZkJts&feature=player_embedded) is a somewhat flippant summary of oil changing - amusing, and for those who've never tried, terribly informative.... ;)

funny vid.
I still have bad visions of old oil pissing everywhere but the drip tray a few months ago :o I'll be better prepared next time!
Lino offcuts are your friend ;)
I have a big piece that unrolls right across the back of my garage for doing mucky jobs - if I do spill anything I can mop it up rather than have it soak in and permanently stain the floor!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Brilliant!!! This is how it should be explained.....
hilarious!!!!

Loved the first attempt at kicking it off, very very funny clip that. Sending it to a few people at work who will love that!

Brilliant! ;D
Top tip:
Before you fit you new cartridge - style filter, fill it with oil & leave it for 5 mins. The filter paper will absorb about 1 1/2 fills & allows the new oil to flow straight thro without
wasting
valuable
seconds
saturating
the filter
itself before going round the engine... ;)
Normal filters can be placed in an old tin can & presoaked:

Saves slopping oil in the filter 10 seconds before fitting it and pouring oil down the front of the engine/exhaust pipes while frenziedly trying to screw it on... ::)
