Leaders of the member states of the EU who signed the new “accord” in Brussels last night, directed their anger towards the UK and spouted-off at PM Cameron for spoiling the German/French party.
They may well think it’s acceptable to hand over their national sovereignty (in effect) to the EU super state without prior consultation with their own citizens, but they may live to regret last night’s decision. Whatever happened to the fundamental democratic principles which were supposed to underpin the European project? >
Despite being backed in to a corner, Cameron played a blinder in my personal opinion.
Whatever you may think of Cameron’s stance in Brussels, the fact remains that he is accountable to the British people and not the Eurocrats. To be frank, I would have signed anything if I had to endure 8 hours listening to the arrogant rhetoric from Sarkosy and Merkel. ;D
