Just been to see the place where Joey Dunlop was killed back in 2000.
It's a very simple memorial in lazer cut aluminium with flowers boardering it.
There were a few tributes left by visitors and looks very well looked after.
It was very humbling that such a great man came to such an untimely death on a country lane, in the middle of a Forrest taking part in a nondescript race.
As I stood in silence I was aware of holidaymakers passing by, only turning their heads to see the strange man in leather with his head bowed, completely unaware that the greatest road racer that ever lived finally ran out of road on that very spot.

Must have been quite an experience, very moving I would imagine.

    Great man Joey.
He was talking to John Mc Guiness and John asked him about a particular corner on the mountain course - he said "you just nail it John"
A man of very few words...... but, if he did choose to speak it was worth listening to
    RIP Joey!
