The mighty GS has taken to running like a sack of poo.

Isn't picking up very well, the plugs are one black and one white + it smells of fuel. I'm running Pro FST fuel addative in order to counter carb icing which these are famous for in this weather.

It took to pissing fuel out of the overflow during the summer, but a bit of carb cleaner seemend to cure that.... and havent had any issues, till now.

Am thinking I have a sticking float in one carb, anyone got any other ideas or tips for getting the carbs off.....

If your tank is rusting and you don't have a fuel filter it could be the float needle isn't closing properly even if the float is working.

If the carb porn doesn't work, try slackening the clamp rings on the inlet manifold rubbers and on the hose trumpets from the airbox, spray plenty of WD40 on both ends (front & rear of the carbs) and have a look to see if there's a mounting bolt or two for the airbox that you can undo so it'll move back and pull off the back of the carbs. Make it as easy as possible for yourself by going through things logically to get the things off.

Then, when you've run out of ideas, get a manual....

Cheers Scotty. I have a haynes, and its as much use as a porn mag for telling me how to get the carb out of that bike.

Am going to attack it tonight.....
