Just sat here scoffing sarnies in my lunch break at work with my ipod on and it Emerson, Lake & Palmer popped up.

Now it occurred to me that the (nearly) 10 minute version of "fanfare for the common man" is a fairly unique piece of music. Originally written in 1943 by Aaron Copland. In itself it was brilliant. But really came to life when ELP turned it on its head in 1977.

It's not my fav sone but it's got to be noted for its composition on two occasions.
