When I heard htis I had to check the News for confirmation that Mrs Thatcher was dead.

Despite your views on her & the Tory goverment at the time. This is disgraceful that the TUC are allowed to sell these packs. What are the TUC trying to achieve by pulling such a obscene stunt, they have brought embarrassment on themselves.

Blue Stu :P, Let’s get the facts correct on this news story from the off.

The TUC were not selling these packs at their conference.
It was a rogue trader called Colin Hampton and he was not selling them on behalf of the TUC.

Brendan Barber, general secretary of the TUC, said the T-shirts were ‘tasteless and totally inappropriate’. As soon as he was made aware of their existence he ordered their removal.

Last night Colin Hampton, who was selling the T-shirts on his stall, said he was removing then from sale after a request from the TUC.

Is that the best the trashy Mail can come up with to try and tarnish the image of the trade union movement? Laughable really!!! ;D ;D ;D

With regards to Thatcher, don’t forget that she was forced from office by her own people and I was proud to be part of the anti-poll tax movement, which brought about her demise – enough said on that from me I think. :-X :-X :-X

Celebrating the death of another human being, in my opinion, is so wrong........I know there are some out there that have died or been killed that havent made me sad....but to have a party pack ??? Bloody tasteless !!
She had family + friends who loved her (who would be so hurt by this)...... and people that didnt like her.....so bloody what......havent we all ??
To be honest if my enemies danced and had a party on my demise my loved ones would probably do them a damage....but me, I wouldnt give a stuff !! ;D ;D

The mess this country is in can all be traced back to Thatcher and her policies. I can't stand her, and that is my right. However, the party pack thing is going a bit too far in my opinion.

+1 on the Thatcher policies part.

    Where shall I start?

    Lack of affordable housing?
    Decimation of our manufacturing base?
Creation of a dog eat dog look after number one society?
Selling-off our crown jewels on the cheap?
    Privatising everything in sight?
    And on and on.

And Blair continued her good work and that is why we are where we are today - at the mercy of foreign privateers.

At least Triumph is still British – I think

The party pack thing is a bit of a storm in a tea-cup. Traders sell similar t shirts at every footy ground in the country every Saturday. Just because it's Thatcher it's in the news.

I agree with Mark & Ken.
I originally come from Birmingham and it was once known as the city of a thousand trades.
After Thatcher waved her wand you'd be lucky to reach a hundred these days.
Manufacturing (especially engineering) and component suppliers were prevalent in the Birmingham area - this has now very much gone.

However much I dislike the woman I couldnt as a human being celebrate her demise.

Erm, she isn't dead. Maggie Thatcher is still alive and well according to latest reports.

But politics aside (as everyone has an opinion on that one ), imo it's never funny or clever to mock the dead, regardless of what you may have thought of them.

The idea of the party pack is quite frankly, sickening.
