The last solar eclipse was back in 1999. WHo can remember where they were. Myself, I was working in Reading & remember how cold it turned & then 1 or 2 street lights came on.

The next Solar Eclipse for the UK will take place on Friday 20th March 2015, the best place to watch it shall be on the Faroe Islands inbetween Iceland & Scotland with 98% coverage, London will experience 80%+. [smiley=cool.gif]

I also remember that the birds stopped singing.
I watched it at Avebury with girlfriend of that time

I also remember watching one when I was at school, the teacher gave us some smoked glass to look through. I bet they aren't allowed to do that now :

Went to Cornwall especially for it. It went pitch black and birds stopped singing. Eerily quiet!
    Saw it between the clouds.
Friends of ours chartered a small boat and went south. They got some brilliant shots of it.

    Cool.

Was at work the last time. Remember it going very dark.

I watched it, what I could see of it :, from the top of Cley Hill.

The view was mostly marred by cloud.

It did darken and the birds hushed, quite spooky really.

Looking forward to this one, welders glass at the ready.

    Everything else is shyte

I was on work experience in the dentists in Llanelli town centre. Was a bit cloudy from what I remember but I watched what I could sort of see and then got to leave early to go to a football match in Liverpool.
