Yes- really. BMW K1200S holds the world land speed record for normally aspirated stock production motorcycles in the 1000-1300cc capacity. I nearly choked when I saw it on an unrelated google search. Done at Bonneville BB! Howzboutthat!

Well boys - what do you say to that!!!!
So much for the staid BMW - I take it yours won't go that fast G?
And the Bonneville gets a mention too - even if it is only as a place name!
No, mine can't go round corners fast either, but its obvious where the gene pool came from. Pure bred engineering counts everytime!
we still talking gene pool?
I'm slow on the straight and slow in the corners. I got nowt to prove, so it must be the bike in this case.
past it? ;D
Well I am a lot lower than you - as in shorter in the leg!!
Anybody wanting to reply back to this thread can you please keep it on track otherwise I will lock it. This thread is about the K1200S holding a world land speed record. We do not want it to become a BMW bashing thread, or one where everybody suddenly claims that their bikes are quicker, etc...
BB and Graemes banter is fine so can we just keep it to that kind of level please.
Thank you.
