New Honda VFR1200

Mmm what ever happened to keeping the old bike running and updating it??
Is this to take place of the Pan as it has had so many issues??
I like the size of my VFR800 and dont really want to go to a 1200, so it looks like I WILL be looking at the Sprint ST1050 now then......your loss Honda.

The replacement for the Pan, the VFR1200ST (complete with crumple zones) has been put on hold pending success (or not) of the plain VFR1200. Apparently.

Why is it that new bikes have to be so ugly and look so disjointed and fiddly?? Whatever happened to simple elegence??

I like the 750 and 800 VFR... top bikes. Am not so sure about this.

with you on that Jon, I love the 750 and 800 early versions, not so keen on the 800 Vtec, but now this new 1200 is well.......Ugly.

And that ST isnt that the one that MCN put together saying what they thought Honda would do?? as that is parts from a Pan and the new VFR.

Are Honda thinking of getting rid of the 800 model? (a mistake in my mind if they do). The only other VFR rider I know has no interest in a 1200. At just under 5 gallons in a tank I suspect they will have to put a bigger tank on for the ST version if it’s to replace the pan. I would say if it’s going to replace any model the blackbird would be top of the list.

As for style, if we all liked the same it would be a boring place. I personally don’t mind it.

For a start, nobody buys them as they're not usually covered in plastic, then someone goes and closes the factory........

Though even faired bikes can be elegent. Look at the MV.. or the Ducatti 800SS...

But that is just my opinion... as FJ says, the wold would be boring if we all liked the same!!
