    If you have a GS500 a least.

Riding home yesterday, I found the gear change was a little interesting. By the time I got home there was no gear change and the lever was dangaling off...

The upshot was that the gear lever splines on selector shaft had stripped totally!! This is a new selector shaft. Luckily not a massive job to fit but a pain in the ar5e none the less plus the £££ to buy a new one.

Check your gear lever is tight....

Happens to our 500's all the time. GS's ain't what they used to be. Spanish build quality (or lack of)... :

Changing the shaft is easy enough.... just need to change the clutch now as it is nearly shot!

Have noticed the slightly patchy build quality.... :P

This happened to me on my Deauville but it was simply the bolt had worked loose and it slipped off so I just had to pop it back on and tighten up
