Found a screw on my tyre!! not happy... there still a few miles life left on it...
the screw went in sideways and when I took it off there's no air coming out, but left a big hole on the tyre thread, so Im not risking it for the sake of 100 odd quid....

I've been using BT014s on the front and BT021s on the rear, which work really well, but I've heard about this new BT023?

anyone has any experience? are they any good?

From what I've heard they have made it even harder in middle and softer on the sides?

and....long shot, but any views if it would work well with a BT014 front?

    Cheers!

014 is single compound, whereas 021 and 023 are dual, i personally don't rate the 021's, tried 'em and the wear is awful especially on the front. However the 014 is a good trye with even wear. Mate at work has 023's on his bike and he rates them way above the 021, wear seems better, and less uneven. As for mixing them, dunno really, but i guess the profile would be similar, so should be ok.

If there is a few miles left, is it worth getting an inner tube put in?? Will save you lobbing out a good tyre.

Ron Haslam puts them on his track bikes at Silverstone (Thats a pretty good endorsement for a sports touring tyre)

Lob some of that messy glue stuff in it that Nooj sells then, worst that can happen is you get a slow, best is you save your money.

You can get them that size.... have used on on the rear of the GS before now with no problems. Went to london and back a few times on the motorway.

cool, good that you've had experience of both...

    what bike do you ride?

and is the 023 really worth it? or not a massive difference from the 021?

the only problem i have is that i know the 021 works well with my front 014... but dont know how the 023 will
