I've owned loads of different bikes and have always fancied a Ducati 999...I know its madness.
Just cant get it out of the system and just need to own one.
Just wondered if anyone here has had one or has one and what they really think/thought of it.

Only ridden a 749, but it was one of the best handling bikes I've ever ridden.
Not exactly practical though. You get a hot arse and back ache round town and you have to use the mirrors to look under your armpits to see what's behind you.
The shallower of the 916/996/998 owners will shun you, there's a fair bit of snobbery about the 999 being 'ugly' and not a 'real' Ducati as it doesn't have a single sided swingarm. But why would you buy a bike to please somebody else? :-?
Less desirability means cheaper prices as well
