Wouldnt know have had a day off apart from Holidays in about 4 years.

I do beleve their is a new system in some work places called a duvet day.
(ie) insted of you going sick for 3 days and no need for a doc's note you can ring in and say your having a duvet day,
your allowed so many a year,
Think this is to cut down on peps taking to many sick days and them losing all them days work ??

Yes this was brought in by the lazy yanks and has taken over in a few firms here.
A couple of my mates work at Intel in Swindon and they dont even get the duvet day or our Bank Holidays as it is an American company and only american days off, I think that mean....
being the boss I can kinda take the day off whenever I want...though don't do it, setting an example etc! I can't remember the last time I had a day off sick either! I do use a lot of holiday though :P
i guess as the boss you get more holiday then everyone else dabz!!! lol
Virgin are pretty good at allowing you to move shifts around and stuff, i can call in on the day and if theres holiday available i don't have to go in!!
If we feel ill,we have to be up at 6 and in the medical center to see a doc at 9,befor we get the ok to be sick and have the day off,
Or they just give you some pain killers and say you ok to work >:( >:( >:(

If you dont go to the the med center ,you have to go into work as norm or untill they send you their ,
Oh well fair play to you for doing it, i couldn't do it, far to pyshical for my liking lol ;D
19 of a 22 year sentence done ,only 3 togo ;)
That part of the job i don't miss - especially when my med centre was 2 miles from where my bunk was and had no transport.Quote:

of course :P but then on the other hand I am in the office an hour before everyone every day, usually at least half an hour after everyone leaves, have about 1 lunch break a fortnight and work a lot of evenings from home lol. My excuse today was "because I was rammed last night by a stolen motor and had to have the roof cut off my car and taken to hospital on a spine board and head blocks"
In fact I had the bosses telling me not to go back to work today.

Apart from having a bad back (whiplash type injuries so I'm told) I'll be fine. Still signed off work though, and the conditions for walking couldn't be worse, but at least the dog's enjoying my company! And the snow!
