Knee-Down Competition 2011
Welcome to the official 2011 Knee Down Photo Competition
sponsored by that super Kärcher Industrial Dealer Simpsons of Westbury (no relation) ;)
In view of the recent controversial photo’s on here of how to get your Knee Down, I thought I’d pinch an idea from the Suzuki SV Forum and lighten the subject a little.
I’m sure you will have some questions:
What do I win ?
The winner will receive a prestigious Wiltshire Bikers Trophy engraved with the words “Wiltshire Bikers Knee Down Competition 2011”
What are the rules and can anybody enter ?
The rules have been drawn up by the WB Competition Rules & Regulations Committee (see below) and anybody can enter who isn’t part of this committee.
When do I have to get my entry in by and can I have more than one entry ?
31st September with the presentation at a meet in early October and yes.
Who will decide the winner ?
The committee, who’s decision will be final unless they can’t decide and just spin up :-/
Will Scotty shout at me ?
Hopefully - yes ;D
Can I bribe committee members ?
Yes, but committee members are sworn to secrecy and will deny any involvement 8-)
RULES
1) Images, of you, must be published in this thread, if you have any difficulty in doing this just ask.
2) Serious knee-down photographs will be ridiculed and not counted.
3) Points will be awarded for the following:
Unusual and amusing “rides”
Unusual and amusing locations.
Unusual and amusing wear.
Unusual and amusing styles.
Bravery ;)
For example: high points would be awarded if you are pictured in full racing leathers knee-down on a toy motorcycle in the middle of a busy Toys-R-Us store.
More points would be added if you are pictured being ejected by the Store Manager ;D
To start you off (just for fun as I’m not eligible) I submit my entry 8-)

Thanks to Basher for taking the pic, if you see him lurking around playgrounds with a camera, I’m sure it will be in his quest for “that perfect picture” and nothing to underhand :-/
Gerry
[After a meeting of the official adjudication panel last night, I’m please to announce that the closing date has been postponed until seven days before the AGM.
At this time there will be a pole put up for the esteemed membership (and Basil) to choose the winner of the glorious 2011 trophy.
The presentation to be made at the AGM.

Re: Knee-Down Competition 2011
How about the group photo on Aberystwyth prom, or would that not count as Gerry's in it, thereby leaving himself open to allegations of improper conduct, conflict of interest and fraternisation with the entrants? >:( If it did count, there'd be about 20 winners.... 8-)

If they did then that would surely be a "caption competition" picture. :)

Re: Knee-Down Competition 2011
I have 30 witnesses that I got the GS Panniers down on the way to Cornwall which is far harder than any mere knee down action ;D

Re: Knee-Down Competition 2011

I can get both knees down at the same time - I've got the carpet burns to prove it. :o

Roxy: I'm waiting for the black Alpine Stars at GW to come down in price to match the RED & Blue ones on sale now, an insider tells me they will sooner or later ;)
Going to keep the yellow for my Track God impressions ;D
Rinksy: My knees are to close to my bum to need sliders, think the only way I'll ever do knee-down is immediately proceeding a bad thing happening :D
Crappy day for riding folks... time to get the camera out ;)

Re: Knee-Down Competition 2011
I think you can agree that the knee is down.
This is my 1992 Flymo Ninja 600 in original Kawasaki Orange. Had her for many years now and just cant seem to part with her. I did buy a smaller 400 model just found it a big harder to control. This one is pretty much standard apart from a changed spinny thing underneath. gets a regular service at the end of season and then put away for the winter. But, she never fails to start come the springtime.
Anyway this picture was taken today at the famous Monkton Park. It was taken on the 4th corner during the first session of the day. The track was a bit damp but it seemed to be drying. However, there was a slight shower at the start of the second session. This was to be my downfall. Leaving daisy bends (background) before heading right into Gladioli , i think i hit the gas too hard and the back end went and threw me down on conifer straight. Thankfully i'm not too badly injured. A few cuts are bruises and a sprained wrist. (my doctor thinks that this was done on another activity).
The bike got a few scratches and may need a paint job. The getgoing lever and lock button detached themselves and will need replacing but, not too bad considering...

Re: Knee-Down Competition 2011
I have today tried and failed to get my knee down on my dads chocolate Labrador. Every time I went near him with my helmet on he went crazy and run around the garden. A good idea for you squashed fly if your dog is better behaved than ours :-)

Re: Knee-Down Competition 2011
JD has asken me to post a warning and picture of him (OK, part of him) on here, on the dangers of Knee Down in jeans (pic below).
Please WB ladies, brace yourself for an image of a somewhat hairy and damaged JD-KNEE (he could have at least waxed before stripping off) ;D
