What is a malawi chinthingy?
There a type of fish from Africa, i have a big tank in my living room with 20 of them in there. :)
That looks lovely. [smiley=thumbsup.gif] I can't recall the last time I decorated a cake - and that would have been flat icing and maybe a christmas tree! lolQuote:

I have a number of hobbies, my main being playing rugby, photography, flyfishing, and walking my lovely dog.
Oh and drinking and chasing woman, but I'm crap at both so may well give them two up. :(

Well done that man. It's a 1977 Dodge Aspen R/T. Has a 318ci (5.2litre) V8, and a manual four speed. Looks a bit 'Mad Max', so I like it... [smiley=thumbsup.gif][/quote]
Thought it was the RT but only seen them with the stripe so wasn't 100% - I gotta head your way soon - told you I liked my yank metal [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Oh yeah forgot my hobbies - currently walking my dog is the only thing I can do but when my shoulder is fixed and leg properly healed I scuba dive (with the intention of buggering off abroad as soon as I have my DM), rock climb, drinking, smoking, annoying people and being a yank car spotter lol

I take it you got the dogs sorted then?Quote:

Teahing my 3YO little girl to counter-stear,cos her brother already dos it,along with stoppies.[he is 5}They both did B-O-A and back the other day.It was a real `Proud Daddy`moment.Bicycles, the best early training for a real bike.{no bloody stabilisers either,I hate those things, and they only get a front brake,so straight line braking from the start]. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
I really enjoy writing articles for newspapers etc, and campaignig letters. When I lived in Scotland I was press officer for the Scottish Socialist Party. Hence the name Redken1. Excuse the plug, but I have a letter published in the Somerset Standard this week, slagging the recent budget.
PS. Dare I say it but man u fan too
Ive got an Ostrich egg, would you be willing to decorate it 4 me. Be a drink in ti for you.Quote:

Would love to have a go of some of the hobbies already mentioned.
Apart from my newly revived love of bikes / biking / bikers, I'm ashamed to say I have a thing for cars as well, especially modified ones. Got a mkiv Supra, 3 lt. twin turbo modded to around 400 BHP which I drag up Santa Pod and trackday a few times a year.
(Plus a highly modded "granny" Smart Car for sale at the mo - nearly double the factory power) :D
I've been fencing for about 15 years (I was a "vet" at 40) and love it, it's brilliant fun. Most proud moment ever was getting selected for the GB team to go to the European Championships in Austria three years ago. I've never been a SportySpice but my determination sees me through. Not pretty (I fence "epee") it's just like boxing with blades [smiley=happy.gif]
Been a Falconer (well Austringer to be exact) since I was about 14 (yes, that long) no hawks at the mo, but after thirty years it's in your blood and at some point I'll be on the moors again.
My car at Santa Pod (no longer A2 SOO though)

First fight in Austria, beat this chap, went out to a big bad German. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g.../Austria-1.jpg

fnar fnar!
Gerry, I really, really, really want to have a go at fencing. Can anyone try it?
My other hobbies are Mountain biking and Snowboarding. Started skiing this year, Trying to get back into surfing after picking up a few injurys and having a go at gardening with mixed results. So far i've killed 2 passion flowers, some pansies and a spikey plant, but my tomatoes are coming on a treat. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
If you like killing things then fencing might be for you.
Some people start it thinking it's a bit like ballet / dancing and a bit airy-fairy, but especially the weapon we use (Epee) is not a bit like that.
It's "stuff them before they stuff you", and you can hit them anywhere (toe to head) any how, any time (after the ref says fence) !
You are not judged on how you do it, just how successful you are.
This suits my awkward Neanderthal style a treat :)
I fence at two clubs, Warminster on Wed - small & friendly, and Bath on Thursdays - bigger and less so I think.
We take anybody anytime at Warminster but Bath have three Newbie courses a year. Both have all the kit.
Tell ya what, if half a dozen people wanted a go I'd set a "come & try it" morning up at Warminster Sports Centre (I coach as well) so you could have a go with other Newbies - just a thought !

There's nothing like being out in the countryside on an autumn day, sun in the sky, stiff chill in the air, and a nice bird on your fist ;DQuote:

Anyway, if you ever do go back to the hawks etc....please let me come and watch.....Im fascinated by birds of prey and love watching them fly and hunt etc (probably not the correct terminology) but you know what I mean lol xx
:) :) :)
Woah woah woah. I don't want to kill anyone i've just always fancied a go at it. It looks graceful but dangerous at the same time. If you have any beginer sessions coming up PM me. Just to fore-warn you i will be crap.Quote:

Hey Gerry, I remember seeing that Supra around Westbury. Nice looking car. What sort of times did it run at the Pod? I'm guessing with 400bhp, low 13's high 12's?
Mark:
Spot on, hoping for high 12s next month at "Supra-Pod" rear wheel drive traction and quite a heavy car doesn't help. If I can get some cheap drag radials before then then I recon mid 12s.
This is the one in the club to beat: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthr...t=drag+radials
Rob:
I'll keep you posted, but I'll sort something out if a few want to have a go.
Beamer:
Not talents, just stuff I do - and I've had a very long time to stuff in :-)
"Fly & Hunt" are spot on, although we Austringers usually just say "killin stuff"
Wiltshire:
Funny, I've never seen it as "graceful" more like just "scary" :-)

There was a great vid of him and a Veyron "having fun" just outside London, but it was only on YT for about ten minutes before he came to his senses ;D
Is that the one of me as a french maid??? ;DQuote:

It somehow is expected really. Looks like a fast car, if you know what I mean. I must admit, I like something that surprises people. Slicks make a huge difference, but so do final drive gears. If you can sort both, you'll be flying... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]Quote:
