I'd be unhappy with their initial response and I think you have every right to be.
If the problem appeared very soon afterwards and appears to be related then they should take the hit. Even if they have doubts then they should do it out of good customer service.
I hope you get it fixed ok soon.
And people wonder why I want to get out of the motor trade so soon :D
They prob asked if you had recovery as that is normally the quickest way to get it in as we don't have service vans and the delivery vans are out delivering bikes - and most cover for more than 10 miles! things are mechanical and due to life they do have mishaps and until they have looked at it they don't know what has happened so no point me speculating who, what how etc until then. Wouldn't be the first time i have seen a bike break down with a fault seperate from the bit that has been fixed - c'mon i ride KTM's and they are a time bomb for things (normally unexpectedly) to happen/ blow up or fall off.
bit like the guy and his brand new ducati at another dealership who handed left the car park and the engine shat itself and left its lunch on the tarmac and a big hole to view it all - they're engines they go wrong and it doesn't take much for it to happen

Bike now collected by the Service Manager and I hope he has a pleasant ride home and to the dealership tomorrow - given that he's at least 6' 2" and a strapping lad at that. Bet he won't be comfortable on my lowered, seat sculpted beast, especially if he tries going over 40mph ;)
Stu - it's a personal thing as to why I can't deal with the bike behaving as it did - I won't go into that on a public forum but it had a very unpleasant outcome for me over 20 years ago and I go into panic mode when ANY bike cuts out like it did (as rider or pillion), hence I got rid of the CBR400 because I wouldn't go anywhere on it without riding with someone which isn't the point of having a bike really.
I wasn't digging at you not riding the bike and no I don't blame you for not wanting to - reason in the past or not. We'll get it sorted - if not Fat Pat has breakdown cover lol
