Made me lmfao in this thread 'Motorbike Crash help'
Its no secret that Darren and I didn't exactly see eye to eye on a number of subjects so it would be wrong of me to call him a friend. However, I hope he has found the inner peace he has been looking for and that his family and friends can find comfort in that. Rest In Peace Darren.
Sad news to hear :( Condolances to his family.
Would like to know when the funeral is if friends are invited to attend, he helped me out a few times with the CG - I can still manage to adjust the valves after his lesson! :)
I'm really sad to hear this news :( Even though I may only have spoken to you several times, I remember thinking 'I like you, you're real'. Rest in peace Darren.

Just heard from Caz, watch this space for funeral arrangements (in the new year). He wanted a biker funeral so WB can do the honours
Terrible news.
R.I.P Darren.
I would love to send my respect to him and his family in this way even though I did not meet him.
Would anyone mind or would you prefer to keep it to those who knew him?
Having known Darren, i'm fairly sure that the more bikes that are there, the better.Quote:

Darren was a great, True friend and we both got on like a house on fire, RIP buddy
It's such a shame he didn't know how much he was loved
A ride out to the funeral would be what he wanted. He used the Ducati ms forum also so there is a guy called Steve who will be organising something g from that side. All will come together. Will keep you all posted.
Tragic loss of someone with so much to give, an outspoken hairy lovable character who I always got on with and had a laugh with. Dad and I are absolutely gutted he felt so low that this was his only option.
We will both be available for the funeral.
RIP Hairy Maclarey and ride free.

Maybe if he could of read this thread he would have stuck around....
I didn't know Darren personally but am truly saddened by this news. Depression is an utterly horrible disease which is so often misunderstood. Too many people suffer with it all around us but it is so well hidden due to the nature of the disease itself.
Ride In Peace Darren .
Shocked to hear this tragic news, rest easy Darren and ride free, you will be greatly missed
So very, very sad.
I met him once and exchanged a few messages and he seemed such a really nice, genuine, down to earth man.
Such a shame.
Deepest sympathy for his family and close friends.
Just been asked to post to say that the Ducati Forum wishes to attend the funeral and is having a collection
http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f18/sad-sad...75/index7.html
Funeral currently expected to be 8th or 9th Jan. There is also a request for a pillion ride for a non-biking friend so if anyone can volunteer that'd be great
More updates to come

I know what you mean, back in the summer he was telling me he had just gotten some new parts over from Japan. He certainly loved that bike

I'd like to come too if it's ok. :(
Everyone is welcome. I am aware of the Ducati forum also organising a ride. Once a day is sorted we can arrange the details for meeting etc. The attire for the day will be anything but black funeral stuff. (Seeing as most bikers will have black leathers don't worry about that just wear colourful or quirky tshirt a beneath.) The family want it to be a day of celebration for his life, what he did, how he did it. Everything Darren basically. No sad faces! ;)
Crosbie
I'm sure there will be someone with more experience who can help out, but if not I have a spare seat.Quote:

RIP Darren.
I will probably have a pillion seat available, so as long as they have a helmet I can probably help out...
Outriders?
Darrens mum Hazel says that she doesnt want flowers but if anyone would like to donate, the money will go to the Bristol Childrens Hospital.Quote:

RIP for an old friend who was not only a dab hand with a spanner, but a good reliable chap who'd always give you a hand. Spent many a good summer riding our mountain bikes or racing them ! I only wish we'd stayed in touch a bit more ! I only wish i'd tried to straighten things out between us, as a wise mother used to say: You dont know how good things/people are till theyre gone !
Cheers Hunar, the pillion will be Darrens sister and she has all the gear !Quote:

RIP Darren. Your smile and sense of humor will be missed.
My heart felt condolences to your family and friends.
I have a pillion seat available on the back of my Ducati. It makes a bit of a noise, but Darren seemed to appreciate it! It also has a bit of his handywork on it. :)Quote:
