Alpinestars winter gloves & Dainese waterproofs both recommended.
all the time except ice and snow
All year round on a gsxr 1100 , although not in snow.
I Ride all year, it would be a waste to ride only in perfect conditions. You also get to know your bike better if you ride in all conditions. I have also found that when the summer comes round you are more switched on to how much faster you can ride on a nice warm road! Its fun no matter what the weather.
:-)
What a nightmare I had on Friday night coming home from work, roads slippery and wombats not paying attention and then having to dress up like the michellen man.
Some times I do envy car drivers. :-[
I thought that was the out fit you usually wore on a Firday night!!
Saturday went to the Christmas market in Bath on my Bonneville.
It was sort of sunny when we left. Rained coming back with no waterproofs and no liner in my jacket. I was wet through to my smalls and frozen and what did my wife have to say 'Oh my jeans are a bit wet'.
Don't you just luv them.
Cheers
Kev
P.S. The liners going in tonight
I agree with ibell Friday was a particularly bad day, not a nice ride home down the M4
Another great ride in to work in the rain this morning :'(
and looking as though I have to dress up Amante's fav out fit again tonight as well. ;D
Not the bondage Lederhosen again?? :oQuote:

Still I pick up my Car on Sat so I wont have to ride in amoungst the nutters in the cold and ice, I will have to join them instead.
Yep it was a cold one, the lock was froze this morning on the motorbike shed.
Igbell I will think of you in your car when I am traffic splitting
Its alright FJ I will only be in my car when it comes to snow and ice, all the other times I will still be sat on the old girl (motorbike before you say anything Amante).
::) As if I would!! ::)Quote:

No stranger to riding in bad weather though. Before my current job, my bike (a SV650 at the time) was my only transport and I rode that through two winters. Can remember hands being so cold that I had to stop, take off gloves and hold them over the exhaust just to get some feeling back, lol.
I know that feeling Obzy! I always wanted heated grips!!
I would never buy a bike without heated grips now, as they have been a god send.
Also after getting the AlpineStar gloves I would never get winter gloves that are not top notch, as these have been the dogs do dahs.

Never rode with heated grips, just use big old bulky oxford muffs to keep my hands warm, the only down side is they occasionally knock my kill switch when I am riding ::)Quote:

used to have heated grips on the 1200 bandit...definitely a worthwhile investment for winter riding! mind you, I have some great astars gloves now which do the job just as well
Couldn't agree more on the heated grips. I wonder how I ever managed without them. Got some Triumph handguards coming on 18th to make things even better :)
Oh yes, I ride all year round. I've got a car license but currently don't own a car.
I work and live in Cheltenham during the week and commute on Fridays and Sundays. Only having one car which the wife insist's on using leaves me only one option and thats the Fazer, which i have to say I have no complaints about. The only thing that makes me resort to the train is Snow and ice. So to answer the question I think the answer is yes. ::)
All year - but I avoid snow and ice, two on the road and two sorned and in process of some changes
but there are days when there are advantages to living on a bus route
:-?
95% warm weather rider, cant be dealing with the arctic tundra on 2 wheels ::)
I do ride year round but if I'm truthfull I take the car if the weathers really bad. Tend to avoid November and December because of leaves (and drunks) but with the rain washing the roads clean they are really grippy at the moment even in heavy rain. Apart from tractor mud of course!
BTW Dabz, thanks for the welcome back - I have been around a bit but with broadband problems recently and understaffed at work I have not had much to say.
Yepp, Im an all rounder :p
All year round, although take the car when I have the kids....
