Hello and welcome :) Go for the DAS, you won't regret it!! :)
Welcome Tina :)
I'm another who did the restricted licence, purely because I had my own 125cc already for work that I could also use for my lessons and test. I paid a lower rate for each lesson, could practice to my hearts content any time I liked, and could also take myself to tests without having to be escorted.
It does get frustrating at times not being able to give full rein to the CBR, but as at the time I didn't have much funds, it got me my full licence 8-)
go for the das. the 500s ent all that powerfull at least not so much that it will scare you. then have what ever bike you like. being on a budget wont the das save your insurance tokens if you go for a small bike after, that leaves more beer tokens.
oh and welcome!
Not sure, I assumed having 2 years insurance on a lower cc bike would be better than none on a, say, 600cc? :-? I dunno, I'm new to all this ;D
thanks for the warm welcome everyone :)

You could have a play on an insurance comparison website and see if it makes a difference

Hi and welcome,
2 yrs experience is worth its weight in gold Hun ;)
I did a restricted licence, albeit 11 odd yrs ago now, due to lack of funds and it made a huge difference to my premium having 2 yrs bonus when i got my first 600cc bike :o
oh, you lot, so confusing!
You know, I'm probably going to go with the restricted bike, I'm just too skint and am in no real rush to get a monster bike just yet, I guess. I'd sooner have a bike I feel confident on rather than a bike I feel out of my depth with, because that'll either put me off riding or it'll get me killed, right? :-?
cheers everyone ;)
Hiya you can be the only one to decide, wots right for some may not be the right way for you ,if you are very new to motorcycling ,IE not been on a 50 then 125 to gain the experiance from them i then do the 2 year restricted ,if you are a confident rider with some know how ,then do your direct , but above all do wot you want. ;)
