Anything by the Cheeky Girls.
Or failing that, John Williams' Duel Of The Fates from Episode 1. An incredible piece of music, way too good to 'waste' on a film score:

Or possibly Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries:

Or maybe even O Fortna from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff:

The Magic Flute is great, but prefer his Marriage of Figaro, especially Sull’ Aria - beautiful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLtqZewjwgA

Totally agree with sf and nelly on metallica's s&m, absolutely awesome especially through surround sound :p
And smelly..your choice is inspired! Who knew you had such refined musical taste? :p
Re: The Most Awesome Piece Of Music Writing ever?
M fav is either, "If you tolerate this your children will be next" - Manic Street Preachers or "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" (parts 1-7) - Pink Floyd.

Mike Oldfield Tubular Bells
Re: The Most Awesome Piece Of Music Writing ever?
Anything by Pink Floyd. There's not a single second of their music that's wrong for me - how many bands can you credit with that?

Ha...technically that's not really music, more of an indulgent experiment (which i don't think they even thought that much of with hindsight!!! Certainly built up their catalogue of 'strange noises' though)
Some of the early stuff's a bit hit n' miss but i guess you'd just have to have been in the room to benefit from that and more than likely have been on what Syd was up too ;)
For me i jumped on the band wagon with the Wall when i was 12.....and that's where it all started, records, books, video, still have a craving for all that is Floyd and there's just not enough out there to satisfy it. Managed to get a personal message to Nick Mason last year who then very kindly signed my book.
To choose a particular favourite track would just be impossible and so dependant on my mood and NEEEED :)
