today - 1st ride in almost a year!

well today was the 1st ride on the new bike...and that 1200 has a whole lot more power and torque than I expected! I pulled away and my 1st words to myself were "holy ****". Was very impressed with myself though, no wobbles at all and was riding like I'd never been away from it - just need more confidence on the twisties next.

Took it to fowlups in bristol and back, so just over 50 miles of traffic, town and country driving - the wind picked up over the mendips which was a bit hairy but all good experience, and took it up to 110 on the way home. You really have to hold on at that speed with no fairing!

oh and the guy who invented heated grips is a genius - they're lovely and with my hands toasty I didn't get cold at all despite the wind temperature being about -1 on the mendips

I was around there over the weekend i was in Shepton Mallet doing a classic car show, i was driving the sprinter thinkin this road would be nice on the bike oh and this one oh and this one and that went on and on. One thing though it was bloody freezing lol

hehe yeh it was bitter! once you get round the shepton area there are miles of nice roads over the mendips - some nice pubs to stop at too. very little traffic usually which is always a bonus :D

We went to a couple of pubs we actually stayed in Doulton and the pub there was nice espcially when you have been in there for a while and your vision goes funny lol.

nice lookin bike Dabz, i finally got my bike taxed and insured now, am looking at a ride out somewhere saturday, bristol fowlups (fowlers he he) sounds good if anyone is interested?, I should have my yoshi's fitted by then with a pillion too

bah I would defintiely have been up for that but have agreed to go to ikea with the missis hehe
