Water in my oil
Just got the bike out of the garage to give her the once over to make sure she is ready for the new year ridding. :)
Looked at the normal stuff and saw that I had a white oil window, checked the oil filler lid and saw white on this, so it look like I have water in the oil. :(
Now do we know if this might be due to the fact that she has been sat up in the garage since just before christmas, or will this mean I have a gasket gone??
Could I do a oil/filter change and this might cure it or will I have to have a look at the heads??

Re: Water in my oil
It could be like you said -just that it's been stood for a while. I'd give it an oil/filter change and take it for a blast...see if it comes back or is ok

Re: Water in my oil
may just be condensation of the engine casing tends to happen if engine not started at regular intervals.just make sure u warm the engine before u drain the oil or u will not get rid of all the condensate

Re: Water in my oil
Igbell if you are that worried about it I will swap my 21 year old Yamaha I do my daily commute on for your nice shiny VFR. ;)

Re: Water in my oil
Sounds like a plan as my commute used to be 50 miles each way, now it is 4 miles each way.

Re: Water in my oil
That could be your problem... 4 miles might not be enough time for the oil/condensation to heat up fully and disperse. You need to do a longer run to sort it out. Just a thought.
Ps. The meat in a salad comes from the slug or cattipillar on the letuce leaf!!! Hmm! Protein!
