Sadly a fellow touring mate having toured with part of a club for the past few years died.
He was an instructor too and I can vouch for many miles of competent hi-viz riding across the EU.
Whilst not a close friend outside of the club as club riders and a fellow biker their is a bond.
Not knowing the full facts yet ...but an old duffer in a car shot out of a small farm track across an A road 3 lanes. Sadly he died at the scene.
Old duffer and wife pulled out from burning wreckage ok.
To give my self a fighting small chance I have today taken delivery of an air bag vest. Upgrading from my current chest plate.
but every little helps.
Ride Safe.. and remember it might not ever effect you but it is horrid for his family that are left behind.
What will happen to the old Duffer... Not enough ...
