Hey all!

Contemplating another machine for my already full garage? Theres two i'm looking at (Im a nut for old ones!) a 1989 Kawa GPZ500s and a 1990 Yammy XJ600(Pre divvy)

whats peoples opinions on preference? Im taking towards the XJ as its a bit more retro looking but not sure!

Pete

Neither my cup of tea but if I had to choose it would be the XJ as I had a XJ550 briefly when they came out. It was a nice bike in many ways but I was 'trading up' from a 350LC and once I got the XJ I couldn't keep up with my mates who stayed with LC's!! Only kept it two months before going back to Elsie.

Anyway I thought you were supposed to be selling up bikes to fund a wedding, change of heart? ; )

GPZ. They made the 500 for donkeys years so spares are 2 a penny.

You could probably find a ZZR for similar money though which is a lot more bike for your beer tokens (and again massive production run = lots of spares).

Sorry not up on my VFR's although I know some love 'em, my mate ran his for nearly 8 years, 110k miles and no major problems in all that time. I think depends whether good or 'absolutely spotless' as then getting to be a bit collectible. Good cond makes it just another 90's bike so worth what someone will pay against all the other options.

Hope you don't sell the 11 when you are too old/incontinent/infirm to ride that one I want first refusal! (of all your bikes I rode that's the one I'm still grinning about :D )

I am seriously thinking about letting it go, gonna see how often I get out on it this year and go from there. First dibs if you are really interested as would rather it goes to someone who will use & appreciate it. How's your bike btw, bearing up after your prang, ready for a catch up soon?

It's doing ok. Winter commuting taking it's toll though, that along with doing all the overtime I can mean there are a fair few jobs remaining undone (valves, rear brake, C&S are in a bad state).
