Hey all me again!

Looking for some tips, i have removed my clutch cover to finally try and sort out a small oil leak and replace the gasket however i have noticed a few small chips on the engine side as well as bits of old gasket truelly stuck on, does anyone have any tips for removing old tough gaskets? and regarding the small chips could i get away with adding some instant gasket as well as the paper one do you think?

I have a steel ruler, just for removing bits of old gasket, srape it flat along the edge, sturdy platic one might work. As for instant, i always very lightly coat the faces in hylomar blue, and let it go tacky before adding a new gasket.

Cheers, found an unused polyfiller spreader which worked quite well. couldnt get hylomar but got another brand instant gasket which all seems to have worked no leaks so far! little test ride this afternoon i think!
