Ethanol Troubles

Finally thought I'd got the 'new' girl sorted, ready for the Santas-on-a-Bike run on Saturday.

Could NOT get the tank back on, as it had expanded such that the bolt holes were not usable.
Resorted to sculpting with wood chisel and hammer plus half-round file.

Am told that higher grade fuels of some makes still have nil E, but it's too late now for this one.

Super unleaded is still nil ethanol. 95Ron is up to 10% now. Have seen it rot a fuel pipe, but never that bad!!

Ive seen customers bikes and had to convince them of carb strips, tank re seals, fuel line changes which all add to extra cost .
I know of ethanol growing in a microlight fuel system, could have been serious.
why does a bandit 6 tank suddenly crack or split? Ive had a fibreglass tank go soft
why do copper and brass fuel connectors on classic cars corrode.
why did my triumph 500 needle corrode white when not used.
Ive tried octane boosters , they just clog up the jets.
Avgas is the only proper fuel not allowed to have ethanol included. why? if a plane stops it drops. if a boat stops it floats...
I think they can add upto 15% without having to notify you on a pump.
