Hi Everybody,
Some of you may have seen the 'Bad News' Thread regarding my son Elliot in a fatal motorcycle accident in Calne, firstly let me say a big thank you for all your kind words, thoughts and support.

We have now made the funeral arrangements for next Tuesday, 9th at 10am and I would like to try and arrange a bike escort for the hearse from FW Jones undertakers in Chippenham to the crematorium in Semington.

I would welcome any kind offers of help with my request, I would also understand that many of you will have work or other commitments and cant make it at that time of day and it is short notice. We will also be dependant on the weather, hopefully the weather will shine on us for next Tuesday. I would suggest the start to finish would be about an hour and you would be more than welcome to attend the full funeral service or the wake which will be at the Lysley Arms in Pewsham after the service around 12pm.

I have spoken to FW Jones and they would need you to be in Chippenham just before 09:15am, I will confirm this once we have an idea of numbers attending.

If any of you are able to attend please reply to this thread or send me a PM.

Thank you in anticipation of your help.

Alan

Hi everybody, thank you for your responses any offers to attend are gratefully received, bit more detail for you bellow.
The funeral car will leave the undertakers in Chippenham (FW Jones Undertakers, 30 Market Place, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN15 3HP) around 09:20am, so we need people at the undertakers for 09:00am to discuss the route. The crematorium is Devizes Road, Semington, Trowbridge, Wiltshire BA14 6HL and I estimate the journey will take about 30mins.

The crematorium has a large car park and the escort could just turn and go or stay for the funeral and they would be more than welcome to attend the wake which will be at the Lysley Arms, London Road Pewsham, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN15 3RU.

I have spoken to the Undertakers, Crematorium and the pub and they are all happy for this to take place. All they have requested is an idea of numbers, so could you ask anybody who agrees to attend to confirm to me on this thread.

I have also put a message out to the Cheltenham & Cotswold Advanced Motorcyclists.

Elliot loved his R6 and I know he will appreciate the send-off, so a big thank you from me.
Alan

I'm not able to make this but I'm really pleased with the coverage your post on the WB Facebook page is getting - it's been seen by 1800 people so far. I know Castle Combe are also spreading the word asking for bikes

Alan, I sadly won't be able to join you on Elliott's last journey but my thoughts are with you and the family today. I'm sure others from WB will ensure he gets the send off he deserves.
