Thinking a yellow helmet (flip top) would make me more visible but also thnking i'd look like a canary as my VFR is also yellow, what's your opinion ?

I nearly took out a motorcycle in Bristol a year ago on a dark and grey day, his motorcycle, helmet, and clothing was all black and grey, from that day I have aways had hi vis on when I am on my Motorcycle,
He may have thought that he was cool, but not as cool as he would have been if my Honda CRV had gone over the top of him.
Yellow Helmet nothing wrong with that.

Banana man ! ;-). No personally, but lovely bike colour. Black would look cool against the black

Your bike, your head, your life. If you want a yellow lid get one.

Personally I hate matching kit to bike. Generally you find people who do can't ride and are all about the look.
Any bright helmet will give you better Conspicuity.
White, red, orange or yellow all have similar results and, according to tests, you're 30% less likely to be involved in an accident compared to a black one. (I'm sceptical of these "experts" as the type of rider wearing a bright lid are naturally going to be more sensible)
As long as it's got a good rating I shouldn't worry too much.
Anyone who can't see a bright yellow VFR isn't going to see the helmet.

Looks good together, now if you go for yellow leathers that may be just a tad too far!

Mike, go with whatever you are happy with. It does not matter what anyone else thinks would be my advice. I'm a painter and decorator and I never advise on colour schemes because everyone has different tastes. Apparently, 'blue and green should never be seen' . Well, nature thought it was OK to pair a beautiful blue sky with lush green fields.

There's a saying in the building trade too:
"If you can piss you can........"
You're right. These sayings are nonsense. 😜
