So 10 years no claims has its benefits - Bennetts have just quoted me £80.16 for my annual renewal, fully comp with pillion cover :) Happy days, comes down every year!

Is that because you selected less than 500 mile per year :)

Lol yeh put down that it'll be sorn'd ;)

Nah I reduced to 3000 miles this year, usually 5000. Can't see me managing 3k to be honest though!

A good price but nothing you don't deserve for your years of sensible riding.

Appears There's no rhyme or reason to insurance.
Just gone from a sh*tty old mercedes vito worth about £1300 to a brand new £18,000 transit and my insurance dropped by £200!
Meanwhile my home insurance goes up by £30 each year.

I think they just use a roulette wheel or something to invent the quotes

My Vclic ped was just under £60 (TPFT) with my wife as a named rider (she only holds CBT) + free meerkat that sold for £30. The same Ped with just me and not her as a 2nd rider was £20 more from the same broker. So either they make it up as they go along or somehow extra, inexperienced riders equal less risk???????

Also a quote on a ZZR600 is lower for me than I paid on my current 400 (same brokers, excesses)...... How on earth do they figure I'd be less of a risk on a 600CC 99BHP bike compared to a 400CC 56BHP bike? (400 costs me £110 TPFT, a 600 quotes me at £90)

Indeed they do. I had a quote for 5k miles, then increased it to 6k and the premium was £2 less.
Also had one with no pillion, then with a pillion and that was less as well.

Its all down to statistics with the insurance companies. I can understand the cheaper rate with pillion insurance as I wouldn't be surprised if there were more accidents without a pillion than with. Same goes with mileage, I would expect riders with a higher annual mileage to have fewer accidents per mile and therefore claims - going from 5K to 6K just puts you up into that category. My theory anyway :D

Won't be long and you'll have the option of buying from Saga!
Getting older does have it's benefits but do they outweigh the negatives?

Happy Birthday!

Cheers Chris, glad to see you made it back from Wales ok.

I'll be out and about on the bike over the next few days, maybe we can catch up out your way, may even be able to bungy that paddock stand to the back of the Enfield ; )

Journey from hell coming back. M4 was a car park from Cardiff to Leigh Delamere and the number of cars that actively moved to block me filtering was ridiculous.

I should be around, Friday will be in Swindon at some point though to get my tyre plugged. Just give me a text or PM here and I'll put the kettle on. Bike won't be out now till I sort the tyre the one I'm using I really shouldn't be, I have to stop and pump it every hour and it is so hard it doesn't grip with my usual aggressive traffic light starts so I've done a few unintentional rolling burnouts.

I like the thought of the rolling burn outs! lol but take it easy on that tyre :)

Funny, never had that problem on the Enfield no matter how hard the tyre is ; )
