Hi , my name is Leigh and other half is Andy, we live in Wootton Bassett, now the kids are older we would like to get out more on the bike and meet new people.
I myself tried to learn riding a motorbike but did not get on very well, ( a confidence thing) , so I am happy riding pillion with Andy.
He owns a Honda Pan European which I love going on and is a lot more comfortable than his previous bike.
Am I the only one that enjoys riding pillion that does not have a bike license ? maybe I will give it another go !!
Hope to meet some of you one day.

Hi Leigh, welcome to the site.

Exactly the same situation my wife went through - totally fearless as a pillion, but hated actually being the rider so didn't carry on learning. She has no problem riding horses (or falling off), but could not get comfortable with controlling a bike.

Personally I think she's just happy being a backseat driver/rider :D (We no longer have the intercom fitted - told her I've lost the chargers!)

Hello Leigh and welcome to the group. No you're not alone, my wife Aurora likes to ride pillion but has no desire to ride herself; also Pan European!

Welcome, I have a friend with a Honda Pan European it's an excellent motorcycle, yes my wife has no
Motorcycle licence and doesn't want one but sit's on the back of the BMW just fine,
it's not a motorcycle I use a lot,

Hi Leigh,

I've just got my licence having wanted to learn for years but having a boyfriend who rode decided it. Personally I found being pillion quite frightening at times and could never quite shake the feeling I'd shoot off the back when pulling away fast! Riding is not for everyone - even I had a few off days when training wondering if I was cut out for it but it is bloody good fun!
