Ugly. Looks like an SV has rear ended an R6.

Afraid it does nothing for me, I can barely tell the new models apart these days. Much prefer a classic Triumph Bonnie style bike, even though I ride a Sprint covered in fairing....

I hear you can get a good price in the Asian market for internal organs :)

All that carbon fibre I am not surprised. Think of this as the rich boys toy that will fund the R&D costs to enable the rest of us to play on a cheaper version in a year.

Does anyone need that much power on a bike? Max BHP is usually made at the top end so where would you be able to ride with long enough straights, and bikes aren't about straight lines anyway.

Southwick to North Bradley. Would that be long enough James?

Will they be doing a colour matched sidecar & luggage?

On a serious note for road use they have already surpassed what you can sensibly use. They are also making bikes smaller e.g. the new R1 will be about the same size as the current R6 (No use if you are my size). Give it 20 years and they will be so small no one will be able to ride the things.

The trouble is people buy bikes like this because of the figures on paper rather than if it is any good to ride.
Bikes like the Thunderace and zx9 were killed off by this trend even though, on the road, they were better than the bikes that replaced them.
This will be bought by the same boring b'stards that buy Desmosedici's and spend more time talking about it than riding it.

In spite of being a bit of a power junkie I tend to side with James on this one. 300bhp is a lot of ponies, in fact double that off my FZ1. The only time I ever used about 80% of my 150 bhp for a sustained length of time was when the road opened up during a trip to Scotland. With our congested and deteriorating roads where could you unleash that kind of power? Would love a go though. Lol.
As I have said many times before, unlike motorists the biking fraternity carry little clout at the ballot box. I can see a time when a future government could impose power restrictions on two wheels. 300 bhp on a road bike is knocking on the door of insanity. Giza go.
