I got an email today saying that Continental are doing an exchange for tyres made between 2007 and 2014.
Anyone else hear about this?

ive not heard anything from Cambrian who supply us in the trade and import them, but then the tyres supposedly affected are a more race type.
pity about Avon, although local now an American company.
Keith who used to be at Bob Missens had a good relationship with Avon and was allways getting scrubbed tyres and we had at a good price.

The email I received:

Tires between 1907 (19th week of 2007) and 2614 (26th week of 2014) are covered by this voluntary exchange program. No other tire sizes, production periods or product lines are affected. Also not affected is ContiSportAttack2 K. Continental started to notify the respective national authorities on August 8, 2014. Continental is in contact with its motorcycle tire customers from the respective sales channels to organize and implement the voluntary exchange program. Anyone seeking more information, including instructions for identifying affected tires and local contact partner, are invited to visit Continental’s website.

What to do?

If you should notice that you have one of the affected tires, please contact our service center by mail (claims@delti.com) to organize the claim of the tire.

I had my front tyre changed under the Continental recall scheme. Just give Pauline a ring at Biketreads and she knows all about it. All FOC. No claim forms need to be filled in.
Have a look at this to check if yours is listed.
