I just saw this on Facebook and as I'm a new biker thought it was pretty true

'Advice for new bikers- You start the game with a full pot of luck & a empty pot of experience... The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck.'

A full pot of experience is of no use if you have an empty pot of luck :p

A few of us out for a ride yesterday around Zummerzet.
The land rover which I was following started to indicate right as the quite narrow bendy road opened out a bit, and had started to swing slightly.
I moved to the left and slowed. The guy behind me had had enough of following this land rover for several miles with no chance of overtaking and went out round both me and the land rover at warp speed. The driver must have seen his light and stopped his right turn about half a second before a horrendous accident occured. I rode the next 3 miles in a state of shock. Soooooooo close.
Luck I s'pose.

A few months back I was behind a white merc/bmw for absolute yonks. I didnt try to over take him as his right indicator was on. Eventually after an eternity and a half I saw a gap to get by so I pushed passed but luckily the guy noticed me as he had just started to turn right into a dirt track, we must have been inches apart. Needless to say we were both at fault, probably more me and I definately needed a change of undeerwear. Shows we never stop learning.

Apart from when I was knocked off my DT50 by a hit and run driver I had a very close call on my old XL250
Riding along Seymour road one evening a car decided to pull out directly in front of me. The twat then decided it was best if he/she just stopped there (why do they do that??) completely blocking the road. I was only doing 30 and managed to just miss the back end of it's car by riding on to the pavement between the hedges and parked cars, luckily there was no one on it at the time

Luck and experience saved me that night
