Being new to the Wiltshire area, are there any places when bikes park up for a chat and a coffee?
also, are there ant decent bacon butty stops that can be recommended?
i have to admit, my current favourite if greasy joes in Cirencester.
any suggestions will be appreciated.
many thanks in advance
cheers!
JJ
If you head down Salisbury way (A30) the Clearway Diner is ok for a coffee (£1.50 free refills) and normally has a fair few bikes around on a decent day. Food is a bit pricey for what it is though.
Also on the A30 near Salisbury is the Venue on the Hilltop. Bit bigger and swisher than the clearway but offers the same stuff at similar price.
I'll be the first to mention AV8...
Harrys diner at Fowlers Bristol, usually a decent crowd on a weekend :)
Definitely Harry's at Fowlers, they do a decent breakfast :)
Compton Abbas airfield is worth the ride and a WB fav

Is AV8 the one at the airfield?
Yes, off the Cirencester to Tetbury road as opposed to the Ciren to Malmesbury road, Kemble Airfield
just to confuse - Compton Abbas and AV8 are at two different airfields!
Not local but not too far - Poole Bike night

If I remember, Compton Abbas is on the high bland ford road what rumour has it is closed for three months!!
as for AV8 isn't that up near Kemble ( now Cotswold) airfield?
I came past the turn off for Melbury Abbas yesterday and its definitely shut from Blandford end to compton Abbas, we came back on the A350 instead...

Compton Abbas airfield, and the café, is open despite the road closure.
If your going south it just means a little detour up zig zag hill to get there.
Compton Abbas is great.. love that place. :)
