Seen similar to this a few times near Le mans. Gendarmes using radar guns hiding in the long grass beside bridges.

In France the permanent cameras are well sign posted and pretty obvious. Whereas the mobile ones a generally well hidden, under trees, in bushes and basically anywhere the police know you probably won't spot it until it's too late. Caution is required!
