View Full Version : Hello
Hi ,I'm new here, passsed my test last year ,bought a Pegasso 650 rode it through the winter and have now bought an xjr 1300,ready for a trip to France latter this year..:)
I work shiftwork so I won't be able to attend some of the rides, but would like to go on some.
I was talking to a local fella ,and he asked me if there were any local pub or cafe meets,ie outside of ride-outs,I know the Lysley Arms Chippenham used to have an evening, are there any other local venues from Trow/Westbury area?,
Seems like a nice friendly site.

Hi Gav and welcome to WB !!! Traditionally the regular meet was at The Harp and Crown in Gastard, between Corsham and Melksham on a Wednesday night from 6ish onwards, but it seems to have died a death. Summer months used to get really busy. Not sure what happened really ???

Hello and welcome Gav,
I live some distance away so rarely get chance to get down there. I won't get chance for a while as I am away for a while.

I'm loving the xjr,I'm not a speed freak ,I need my driving license too much, so a naked suits me, 80mph is comfortable cruising, effortless torque from any revs, low saddle and looks retro,in keeping with my age:D .. hope you enjoy yours as much as i do mine
Many thanks for the welcomes

Hello and welcome to WB. Have a great time in France ...... I'm not jealous. :( ... I wish I could do some biking in France. My son is picking up a bike in Newbury next week and taking it to France via the Pyrenees .... I'm not jealous about that either ..... Richard
