I'm thinking of getting rid of my ZX6R and getting a VFR800. I have had a read around and seen one i'm thinking of getting but i would like to know if anyone has had first hand experience of owning and running one.
The one I'm looking at is http://www.hayball.co.uk/hayball-used-viewbike.asp?BRA_ID=2402&FRC_ID=1169&SP_ID=2280808 It has all panniers and padded top box as well and has full service history etc.

Cheers for any input.

I bought myself a 2004 Vfr 800 vtec last year and have since put about 6500 miles on it. Have to say that personally I think they are brilliant all round bikes. Only negative that I can think of is the 16000mile servicing costs. As it is a vtec the valve clearances need checking every 16k which puts the servicing costs up a bit but in my opinion worth the cost.

Happy to meet up once the weather improves to discuss more if you want to

cheers for that bernie. it has had the 16000 mile check done as its on 21000 miles so i should be safe for 11-12000 miles roughly. i would meet up when its better weather but i'll hopefully have it by then. might have to meet up for a ride regardless though.

Looks very nice and has the underseat exhausts which are your requirements ;). Dont know them personally but have heard they are very strong bikes. Lastly, it looks a bit pricey to me but thats because I am a cheapskate. Good luck

i've had a look around conehead and not found a 2009 bike for the same price or even close. plus it has all the panniers and top box which is an added bonus. oh and the underseat exhaust is an essential requirement. i think its a sensible upgrade from my crippling bike
