My 2005 R6 will not start, the thing I have noticed is it does not seem to make the priming noise when you first turn the key.

does it try to start ? if so it could be your fuel pump not working

Re: R6 99 how to test fuel pump????You hook up the power and ground to the*fuel*pump*and it should run, continuously as long as it has power and ground. If fuel flows, it's good. If it runs without your supplied power and ground, you've got a short somewhere. Not sure if I understand correctly, but hopefully that helps some (got this from a form too could be dangers) sorry its for A 99 yours is 06 and cant undo or spell delite

Fuel pump is where i'd start. You'll need to get a volt meter on the pump and see if it gets a signal. If it does then the pump is faulty, if not then the fault is elsewhere.

Are all the cut off switches ok?

You need a voltimeter i wish i said this earlyer call r.a.c or AA a relay would be something they could test if its gone there would been a short circit somewherewhich could blow a new one you need a profesional machanic to fix it hope they dont charge you too much good luck

I think you have a Fuel pump relay on that bike check that, if that's Kaput no power to the pump

Ooops missed your post about checking relay,if your lucky you might have a separate fuel pump relay, some Yamaha's have it combined with the Starter Circuit Cut off Relay with the F/Pump relay combined with separate connector,or it's a All in One block connector.Wiring diagram is your best bet for that info or a Haynes manual.

You have checked your Kill switch is in the run position?

Called out R.A.C home start, might as well called out an ambulance for the good they were. going for the cheap options first (relay) to start.
