Lake District Roads

So I am off to the Lake District week after next, via Silverstone Classic.

Are there any particular roads up there that I should make a bee-line for?

I have only been biking since August and have clocked up 12k since then mainly commuting to Reading and back on the M4 (yawn).

So looking for new places to go with my Beckah!

Not sure on the LD but on the way there or back the A57 from Glossop (Snake Pass) is well worth a look!
