Hi Everybody
I've just joined your happy gang. Looking forward to meeting up with you all. I ride a 125 at the moment, but hoping to pass my test very soon and upgrade to something with a bit more speed. Its a bit of a challenge as I'm only 5ft, but I'm sure I can find something suitable. I'll be looking for advice when the time is right.

Hello

You could always consider bikes like the SV or bandit as easily lowered or such like the cbr400 nice and low

I'm going to take my test on the 125 I already have, so I'll be restricted to 33bhp. I've just seen an intruder 400cc which is only 32bhp. Any thoughts on if it would be suitable as I prefer cruiser style bikes. Any opinions welcome.

you can purchase somethign bigger and have it restricted to 33bhp, its quite a simple procedure and shoud work on most bikes, if not all of them. Once your 2 years on restriction are up you can then de-restrict it and use the full power, rather than have to get another bike, unless you wanted too of course.

You should go for a bike that you like, and you find fun to ride. If cruisers are your thing, go for one. Have a tour round some of the dealerships and sit on a few see what you think. Get yourself to some bike nights (especially the weekly one at the salutation in, and have a look at some bikes, the good thing here is that you can actually chat to the owners as well, and get some opinions from people that currently ride the bike you are intersted in, its a great way to get some info, and of course you get to meet some new people at the same time, of course this doesn't apply to people like Adnrew, as he drives a CAR! ;D

I would like to get to the sally one day, but as I ride a cheap chinese cruiser, I think I would feel a bit stupid with all those big flashy bikes.

It doesn't matter what anyone rides. The fact is you have a bike.
No one should be ashamed or on the other hand gloat on what they have.
Enjoy it, Ride it and get over to the Sally.

Cheers

i agree with kev, it dont matter what you ride, its called wiltshire bikers....not bikes, come on over and introduce yourself, we could meet you somewhere on route so you wont turn up on your own and not know anyone there... let us know... another kev lol

Thanks to the 2 Kevs. May join you at the sally next week as I am working today on overtime. I'll be the geriatric on a black cruiser. Well, it should be black. I'm in the process of spraying the tank. Don't really know what I'm doing, but hey ho. It can't look worse than it did. lol

As the guys have already said, it doesn't matter what bike you ride its the fact that you are out there on two wheels that counts!

Don't worry about the paint finish - not a lot of paint on my old AJS!

Just put the final top coat of paint on, and although I say it myself, it doesn't look too bad. Just need to get some sort of decal on the sides to finish it off. Kathy

While there certainly are some flashy bikes going to the Sally, not all are so it doesn't matter what you bring as long as you bring it!
