I'm fairly new to this biking thing, having finally done the right thing 8 months ago in doing my direct access. I wanted to have my licence before this new test thing kicked in and definatly before I turned 30, so I went for it. Having ridden someone's 125 once 8 years ago, I knew then I wanted to do this biking thing. Having not ridden apart from the one ride 8 years ago, I did one day of CBT, two days of training and passed my test with 2 minors...
I have a Honda CB1 which is in need of a bit of work, and a kwak ZX7R, which needs carbs cleaning, new brake pads....

Rest assured, when the kwak (Or CB) is running, I'll be going to every bike meet I can.

I did the same as you, took my direct access just before the change !
I should have done it when I was 29 as well (left it another 24 years) :o
