Hi everybody,

New to the site having just joined. Also only just returned to the world of two wheels after about a twenty year absence. Obviously currently a very inexperienced rider and any tips and helpful advice will be gratefully received. I am planning on doing a bikesafe day and am looking to get some refresher training in.

Off out on the bike tomorrow.

Cheers

Welcome to WB DaytonaDog and welcome back to biking [smiley=thumbsup.gif] I only came back to biking myself this time last year after 15 years out of the saddle. My tip is take it easy and ride to your ability, avoid riding in groups until you have more confidence and remember to smile! ;D

welcome to WB and back to 2 wheels! Best thing to remember is that the modern sports bikes are far more powerful than those of 20 years ago, and the roads are far far busier ...and they give a driving license to a lot of idiots, so go steady!

Welcome mate and i would say just get out there and ride whether its in a group or not.

Group rides can be good in that you will always find varied abilities within the group and you can pick out things you like in other peoples rides and adapt your own. Also its good to have a brew and a chat about what you thought and what other people thought of the ride.

Hello & welcome. I did the same as you, got back into biking after 15 years+. Now been riding for about 6 years and love every minute of it.
I bought a Triumph 1200 Trophy to get back into it before trying others (The Trophy was pretty basic 'old school', not too different from the bikes I rode in the 80's)
I did the bikesafe course in Devizes and it is well worth doing.

Thanks for the welcome and for the advice. Had a good ride out yesterday on me beast which is a Triumph Daytona 955i (02) 100 miles of finest Dorset countryside including a lovely stretch of road from West Bay to Weymouth looking out over Chiesel Beach (Shame there's a speed limit on it though). I have taken some photos of the bike when we stopped to look out over Chiesel and the sea. Sadly I'm a technophobe and can't seem to get them to attach to the post. I also can't seem to load up a pic of the bike as my avatar so any advice greatly received. Doing the Afhan Heroes thing on Sunday. Should be a good day. Whose going???
