Ah welcome to WB mate [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Hey
Best of luck passing everything :D
Top tip is to relax on everything. No-ones out to do you in for no reason!
Id defiantly book each test at different times (or get your training centre to reserve but not pay)
Cheers mate
Nathan
Welcome Jacde! I would buy a bike to do your test on - that way when you pass you can whip the L plates off and get on with it! That's what I did!! :) Good to have you on WB!
Thanks for the warm welcome so far, currently you will find me mostly reading thru the technicalhelp/riding tips :D
As for my own bike, well I'm really not beholden to any particular make, but I'm only 5' 1" so whatever I get it's got to be small enough for me to get my leg over!! ;)

Hi and welcome and best of luck with the tests [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
8 days and counting to my CBT is anyone else on here a complete novice like me?
Really looking forward to meeting tons of new friends :D
and being tail end Charlie on any ride outs! :)
You'll defo make loads of friends and everyone can ride at their own pace - it's important you do as a learner too. Best of luck for your CBT [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Hi and Welcome - hope the cbt goes well - don't forget to relax and enjoy it as thats what biking is all about. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Hello & welcome. Good luck and enjoy your test
Not that I'm counting but I start my CBT in 21 hours!
;D
Good luck chuck! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Try not to let it be a pressure situation, just say to yourself "I'm going to see what I can learn from this and enjoy myself as much as I can" 8-) :)
Hi, welcome to WB, and good luck for 2morrow [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

SO, spill the beans girl! I can't give you any tips, relax was the last thing I did...
As for the bikes, get whatever you fancy, don't let your height restrict you, I'm a shortie and have had both my bikes lowered. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Get yourself a snotter CG125 off Ebay and ride it everywhere up to your DAS, guarenteed you'll get the money back on it, when it comes time to buy your first Busa.
Not that I'm counting but I start my CBT in 21 hours!
;D
Well? :-?

OH MY GOODNESS ME
I want to come and hug you all!! :D
Well I was terrified and excited at the same time, at one point I really did think I wouldn't ever ride a bike and then I had a bit of an eureka moment [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
The instructor, John, has the patience of a saint and is so encouraging and I can't wait to go back.
I've had the advice from you all running through my rather fluffy brain on a continuous loop today, and it helped enormously, so thank you all so very much.
Can't believe how shattered I am tho, so I'm not jumping on the bike tomorrow (as much as I would love to) but going back next week, instructor thinks the experience from today will mean that next week I'll get through the CBT, I did managed to get as far as figure of 8's and I only had 1 big wobble where I dropped the bike, but otherwise I'm loving every minute of it.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
See, told you.... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Well done for getting aboard, take your time, do it at your own pace, take a deep breath and enjoy..... 8-)

That's great news, [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]
Don't worry about dropping the bike - we have all done it - one experienced rider I know did it u turning only last week! ;D
Keep us posted how you get on next week. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

It's a deal V1per [smiley=thumbsup.gif] however I think it'll be a while yet before I'm unleashed on the great unsuspecting public :o
Why on earth did I not find biking years ago? ;D
Right I'm shattered, so I'm off to bed, but once again, thanks so much for the encouragement folks, you're fab :)

Oh, no cbt today then? Did you do that thing with, oh, what are they called? The ones by the greyhound racing ground, Abbey something? They let you have a go on their 125 but you're not actually doing any tests?
Hi Morticia, yep it was the start of my CBT yesterday, going to take a few days I reckon as the only thing with 2 wheels I've ever ridden is a cycle, but both instructor and myself were happy with the progress I made yesterday so thumbs up all round [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
I'm using ABC training in Swindon, do Abbey do taster sessions then?

Welcome and well done on the start of your CBT. As for only being 5' 1", I consider that tall! I'm only 4' 11.5"
kj
Hi Bikermouse, out of curiosity what do you ride? I'm 5' 1.5" ;D the half makes all the difference doesn't it!

Well done on starting your CBT, I had never ridden a bike before doing mine, it is scary but you'll get there, I think I dropped my instructors bike 3 times (sorry Mark) but he was great and got me through. You go girl!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Thanks Bonnielass, phew glad to know that other people haven't just sat on a bike and it all just fall into place. ::) I had such a enjoyable day yesterday, and can't wait to get back on the bike again. ;D

So is the CBT squared away now?
So is the CBT squared away now?
Hi bob, thanks for asking, had a good day on the bike, got the figure of 8 round the cones sussed today. slow starts are coming along and stopping is getting there, oh and the instructor told me to get the bike into 2nd gear today ;D another milestone ticked!
One thing I realised is, riding a bike is not natural for me :-? but practice makes perfect, and I'm really enjoying the practice ;D ;D
The light bulb is now on, tho very dim at the mo ::) have 2 more days booked and hopefully I'll be able to say I've got my CBT ::)
