I am Mark and my wife is Debbie and we are moving back to the UK, to Trowbridge after 7 years in New Zealand in November.
I ride a Harley Road King as its the only bike my wife will come with me on! I also drive a cruise ship for a living which is nearly as much fun as the harley. Hope to meet you all in the pub over the next few months. Cheers.

Thanks for the welcomes.
3 road kings in trowbridge...did not realise they were so common! Anyway, looking forward to the uk roads again. I am sure they will be different to the wide empty ones in New Zealand.
Hello Mark, welcome to Wiltshire Bikers. :)
Welcome Mark and Debbie, look forward to meeting you both :) :) :)
Whereabouts in NZ are/were you? If you were on North Island you must be familiar with The Gorge surely? (aka Route 2 from Opotiki on the Bay of Plenty to Gisborne)
Given the choice I'd ride in NZ anytime over the UK, our roads are **** and crowded, the surfaces are falling apart and the standard of driving over here just gets worse and worse. Possibly the only thing worse over there is the cops being pretty overzealous on speeding. They can be like that over here but they're quite a bit busier so it's generally less of a priority for them. NZ rocks mate, I'd love to get back down there for some more time on a bike, and the off-road scene is huge out there as well. Hope you enjoy it back in Blighty, but the riding will be pants after what you've had in NZ... :(

Scotty..I was in the South island about 15 miles inland from Christchurch. Rode with the Ulysses club.I know The Gorge but really, the South island roads are just the best...anywhere...period. But having said that NZ is a long way from anywhere and I really want to do Scotland and Ireland and I am busy drawing up a europe tour to go visit as many members of my ships crew on leave as possible from Norway to Hungary to Croatia and Greece. One day.....one day! I know the riding will be different in the UK but lets wait and see. ::)

do I take it that there are a few are harleys about then? We also have a 1989 Kawa ZZR 250 for fun and another Ninja 250 for buzzing about on. Interestingly enough the insurance for the Ninja is nearly double that for the Harley. Have not quite figured that out yet? Also it appears that trowbridge has its fair share of bikers.

There are a few Harley riders about, Voodoo is the quickest to defend you guys as well.
The insurance is probably more because it is quite a high insurance group. Plus the fact that 'youths' have probably wrote quite a few off already.
There are plenty of bikers down your neck of the woods and they are always up to something.
Hi Dave I spent a month in NZ, fantastic place the roads were amazing.
