View Full Version : Where can i get 2 Helicoil fitted

Replacing front discs today snapped two bolts taking the old ones off >:( :'(is there a company that can put helicoils in,around the Trowbridge Melksham ares and roughly how much it would be approx.Sooner the better.

Did they snap off flush, flat & level or slanted? Helicoils are easy enough to fit, getting the old bolt out is the hard bit... should be easy enough with an easy-out now that the head is gone & the tension is off the threads? :)

No they snapped about 2mm inside the thread,ill try Lightning Services,i think being bolts for holding the disc to the wheel i think the problem is Loctite being on the thread plus rubbish metal the bolts are made of.

Might be worth asking in GM Stevens aswell :) As they have a machine shop on site, they may well do something up there :-/

I did phone them but they said they couldn't do it which i thought was a bit strange seeing as they have got a machine shop

They do mouldings and small components, so no set up for maintenance.

What size thread is it??

The size is M8 in the PDF Service manual i got,Paid £10.72 for 12 of them at Fowlers.
I drilled down the centre of one but still wont budge >:(

When I had the exhuast studs that needed drilling out I got hold of a gent in Calne that came out to me and did the work, he was great name of Mark Dunsmore on 07725 665324
