View Full Version : knocking noise
Hey need some help. Whilst I'm riding there's a knocking noise coming from the gear box I thought my chain might be to slack but that seems fine, any ideas on what this could be? also anyone know of any decent bike garages in or close to swindon

Tight spot, stick it on centre stand/paddock stand and rotate rear wheel, is it same tension throughout the full length of chain? If not it's a tight spot, you can try and work it out with oil, make sure you tension on the tight spot, so you don't over tension the chain.

Bike Treads in Kembrey Park were great when I took my 125 in with (at the time unknown) a leaky seal on my regulator rectifier. 1 hour labour and £40 later I was back on 2 wheels :)
They're mainly tyre specialists but the workshop guy just seems to love working on bikes.
Worn front sprocket, my old Fazer did the same thing when it needed replacing. I couldn't hear it, but could feel knocking through the left foot peg.
Sounds like chain to me. Is the gear selection a little vague???
