Hi, I need two fork sleeves making up 50 mm dia and 145mm long and a 36 mm ID, it needs to be reasonably well finished as I was going to chrome it afterwards.

Hope you can help I do not want to take pot luck.

Can't guarentee that level of finish. You'd want about a 3.2 micron and out old lathes are too worn to be sure.

Try Swift engineering in Bristol. Will Pm the number.

if you go to a metal supplier this may be a supplied diameter of pipe already, simply cut to length and turn off the ends in a lathe ?
youll have a very good ground surface to chrome then.....

Thanks for the tip, I have just asked a hydraulic ram repair shop if they can make it from a cylinder rod hopefully job done. ;)

Plus it should be chrome finish too, just waiting for a price.

Try a company called Avonside Engineering in Melksham. They have done some work for me in the past and are very good.

Make them out of stainless and polish them to a chrome finish
