hey
anyone know a good deal about diesel engines?
my van is having problems
symptons
high fuel consumption
lack of power
it struggles to pull 50mph on the flat at times.....and any evidence of a incline it just keeps going slower and slower until i have HGV's over taking me.
it is a citereon 2001 (yes thats a problem on its own) berlingo 1.9 non turbo non HDI
it also shakes a fair amount....2k and the gear lever is ready to take off.......gear box mount?
i have nearly no experience with diesles....give me petrol anyday of week
cheers
Dan
sounds like its on the edge of going BANG
Sounds like it could be 1 of the following mate
Blocked Injectors
EGR Valve
Fuel Regulator (Which I beleive is all part of the fuel pump on those)
Could be a combination of a couple of the above. Best to take it in and get it checked :(

sorted the lack of power problem.....throtle cable adjuster broke so i was only gettting about 1/2 throttle.
would this have a impact of fuel? as i was up n down gear box like a pogo stick trying to find revs

yes as you were giving it full welly and only getting half of the input :o
I would still do the air & fuel filters as it wouldnt do any harm :)

If it's still shaking as you said before, Probably got an injector down.
