bike won't turn over this morning, was fine on Friday.
starter button just produces a screeching noise but nowt else, doesn't sound like anything engine wise grinding tho and batt is good with new plugs. any ideas?

Starter motor not engaging fully?

starter motor sounds ok, like its trying to turn. the noise is almost like when rubber squeaks together with a hint of static ::) if that makes sense?

put it in gear and roll it back/forward hard, engage neutral and try again.

Sorry, my mistake.
I have only ever run out of petrol once (cars & bikes)
in thirty years of driving (although sometimes I have been running on fumes!)

LOL i ran out 400 yards short of Membury services, in the roadworks, so they had to shut one lane to protect me and the recovery guys (it was already down to two lanes due to roadworks), 8 mile tailbacks to recover me the 400 yards to Membury to fill up 8-)

No just the 'MUPPET' part mate.
Tricks are good, it is redders out here though.
Fuel is crazy out here about £0.20 a litre!
