British Gas Profits - How obscene?

British Gas reported a 98 per cent rise in its profit for the first half of 2010, equating to £585 million in its residential business. Don't want to get to political on this platform, but I doubt BG's top brass will spare a thought for the poor old pensioners who suffered the harsh winter. How obscene is that? >:(

yeah, got scammed by British gas once, they promised lower monthly bills (which they did) only thing was they didnt take enough and left me with a final bill if £200...., now when they ring and ask "why dont you come back to us" i tell then "cos youre a bunch of C***S".....

when "Smart metering" rolls out, they are even gonna charge you for the new gas meter/elec meter/display etc by adding it to your bills....

I'm with Scottish Power because they're cheaper than British Gas even though they're a sister company.

I've not had a problem with them so far but I'm the type of person that would rather eat more carrots than turn on a light ;D
